The Landings has unanimously approved the second phase of development at Traditions Port St. Lucie.

With a nearly 41,000-square-foot shopping center and nine new retail spaces, this development will include a grocery store and restaurants.

While residents complain that the shopping center is overcrowded, city leaders say this development is a welcome addition to the community and will boost the local economy.

A new community will be developed on more than 2,000 acres of city-owned land. The Tambone Companies of Palm Beach Gardens has been selected as the master developer.

The development plan includes a 65,000-square-foot assisted-living facility and an additional one-half million-square-foot office building. An eight-acre piece of land is already home to Keiser University, which will eventually be redeveloped.

The new development is expected to create 500 full-time jobs, including those for Amazon employees.

Traditional Hospital in Port St. Lucie, Florida, opened its doors on Dec. 18, 2013.

The hospital has 90 private rooms, emergency and intensive care, and labor and delivery units. Various services are offered, including inpatient oncology, diagnostic imaging, and labor and delivery.

The hospital’s emergency room features 18-bed observation beds.

There is a state-of-the-art interventional lab. The hospital also has a retail pharmacy.
