Bok Tower Gardens was founded in 1929 by Edward W. Bok, a Dutch immigrant and former editor of Ladies’ Home Journal. He wished to create a place to enjoy nature while giving something back to the world.

At the time of this article, admission costs $16 per adult and $5 for children 5-12. There is also a $5 fee for dogs.

Because of the isolated nature of this area, the region has undergone an evolutionary process that has led to the development of many endemic species. During your visit to Bok Tower Gardens, you’ll be able to view many of these rare plants.

Bok Tower Gardens is located in an area with longleaf pine and turkey oak habitat. A 3/4 mile-long trail offers a pristine view of orange groves and other habitats.

Originally, this forest covered millions of acres in the southeast. Unfortunately, this forest is in danger of disappearing.

Iron Mountain

Located 295 feet above sea level, Iron Mountain is one of Florida’s highest points. It is known for its Bok Tower Gardens, a lush green area with trees and water features.

The area is perfect for those looking to get away from the world and relax with a book or listen to the sounds of nature.

The summit trail is a six-mile round-trip hike that is ideal for families. It is well-marked and popular among visitors. The trail climbs high into the mountains and winds through wildflower fields. Located 30 miles from the city, this is a great day trip for the entire family.

To get to Iron Mountain, take the Poway Road exit from Interstate 15. It will take you through the town of Poway and up a hill. Eventually, you will reach Highway 67. From there, you will see the trailhead for Iron Mountain. Despite the hill’s elevation, the trail is fairly easy to navigate and offers fantastic views.

Another great place to hike is Sugarloaf Mountain. This is one of Florida’s tallest mountains and is just a few miles north of Clermont. From the top, you can enjoy a view of Lake Apopka and the edge of Orlando. You can even hike up to the peak to see a spectacular sunset.
